The first line of defense, against invasive aquatic plants is the Courtesy Boat Inspector Program for public boat launches. With this program, trained volunteers inspect boats and trailers before they are put into the lake. Again this summer, the Courtesy Boat Inspector Program will be in place at the Outlet Beach boat launch. To learn more about invasive aquatic plants click  on the links below.

How Can I help? We all can help by just being more aware of what is going on around us. For example, making sure that any boat or trailer that  can gain access to the lake via our own property, is free of any plant life. Another line of defense is The Invasive Plant Patrol (IPP). It is absolutely essential that if a plant makes it into the lake, that it be discovered and eradicated immediately. This is where the IPP comes in. A workshop is planed by the Sabbathday Lake  Association, please see the notice on our home page.
