May 27th (Monday - ALL DAY) - Memorial Day
Originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who died in service of the United States of America. It is also our unofficial start to Summer fun at Sabbathday Lake! Take a few moments, in silence, to reflect on those who gave the ultimate sacrifice to ensure our freedoms...then begin a safe and fun season.

July 4th (Tuesday - ALL DAY) - Independence Day!
Safely enjoy yourself today with family and friends while having fun at the Lake.

July 10th (Wednesday @ 6:30pm) - Sabbathday Lake Association Meeting and Potluck
At the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 354 Sabbathday Road, outside in the picnic pavilion. Potluck is at 6:30pm and meeting starts at approximately 7:00pm (Please bring your own chair and insect spray if needed.)
For the Potluck - Please bring a dish to share (we do not have electricity, so plan accordingly) bring your own dishes, utensils and beverage. We will be outside, so bring anything you need for your comfort.
July 16th (Tuesday @ 9:00 am) - Live Plant Identification Workshop
At the First Congregational Church in New Gloucester
Lake Stewards of Maine (LSM), together with Sabbathday Lake Association will host a Live Plant Identification workshop at the First Congregational Church in New Gloucester on Tuesday, July 16 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Guests will learn how to identify a number of common native and invasive aquatic plants. This useful program will cover basic botany, plant structure, and life cycles for aquatic plants. Learn how to become an invasive plant patrol (IPP) volunteer!

July 20th (Saturday @ 7:45pm) - Near Full Moon Paddle
Meet at the Outlet Beach Boat Ramp. Join your neighbors for an evening of paddling leaving from Outlet Beach and proceeding south. Bring a light jacket and stories to share while we wait for the Moon to rise. Also, make sure your craft has appropriate lights that can be seen by other boaters...stay safe! All human-powered watercraft welcome.

August 3rd (Saturday @ 10:00am) - Morning Cruise
Meet at the Outlet Beach boat ramp bring a light jacket and beverage of your choice. Please email paul.e.gillis@gmail.com to reserve your seat.
August 10th (Saturday @ 9:00am) - Hike to Shaker Great Mill with Br. Arnold **CANCELLED**
Join Brother Arnold for a historical hike to the Shaker Great mill. This event will be limited to 12 participants - No children under the age of 12 please. Reservations are required and may be made by emailing pgauthie@maine.rr.com. Details for group meeting location will be provided at time of Reservation.
August 12th (Monday @ 9:30 pm) - Perseid Meteor Shower
Meet at the Shaker Community - South Field
The Perseids is one of the most anticipated meteor showers of the year. It is expected to peak on August 12th. The moon will be 50% illuminated at the time of the Perseids' peak, it will however set around midnight, so there will be dark skies until dawn. According to NASA, you can expect to see up to 100 meteors per hour during the Perseid's peak, Participants should bring bug spray, a lawn chair, flashlight, something to eat or drink and perhaps a blanket or light jacket.
August 24th (Saturday @ 9:00am) - Sabbathday Lake Association Meeting **NEW LOCATION**

Presentation by Katie Goodwin of EcoInstincts on the Maine Volunteer Lakes Monitoring Program and how our lake fits in. This will include a summary of how Sabbathday Lake is doing and some interesting details on what the data mean for our lake. There will also be information on the new testing methods we added this year. Sabbathday Lake has been monitored consistently since 1990, and its water quality is above average compared to other Maine lakes. Come learn what we can do to ensure our lake stays clear and clean for future generations.
