May 31st (Monday - ALL DAY) - Memorial Day
Originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who died in service of the United States of America. It is also our unofficial start to Summer fun at Sabbathday Lake! Take a few moments, in silence, to reflect on those who gave the ultimate sacrifice to ensure our freedoms...then begin a safe and fun season.
July 4th (Sunday - ALL DAY) - Independence Day!
Safely enjoy yourself today with family and friends while having fun at the Lake.
July 14th (Wednesday @ 7:00 pm) - Sabbathday Lake Association Meeting
At the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 354 Sabbathday Road, outside in the picnic pavilion.
(No pot luck. Bring a mask, a chair and insect spray.)
July 17th (Saturday @ 9:00 am) - Sabbathday Lake Invasive Plant Patrol Kick Off
Meet at Outlet Beach
July 24th (Saturday @ 8 am) - Morning Paddle
Meet at the Outlet Beach Boat Ramp. Join your neighbors for a morning of paddling leaving from Outlet Beach and proceeding south. View the Loons and share some stories with your neighbors. Feel free to join in along the way. All human-powered watercraft welcome.
August 7th (Saturday @ 9:00 am) - Hike/Trek to the Shaker Great Mill *NEW*
Join Brother Arnold and Tom Driscoll for a historical hike to the Shaker Great mill. This event will be limited to 12 participants - No children under the age of 12 please.

Details for group meeting location will be provided at a later date.
August 11th (Wednesday @ 9:30 pm) - Perseid Meteor Shower
Shaker south field. Bring bug spray, a chair, a flashlight, something to eat or drink
and a light jacket or blanket.
August 14th (Saturday @ 9:00 am) - Sabbathday Lake Association Meeting
At the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 354 Sabbathday Road, outside in the picnic pavilion (Bring a chair and insect spray.) Guest Speaker - Tristan Taber
Topic: emerging technologies in community science (also known as participatory
science), and how LSM is engaging the lake communities of Maine and beyond in developing digital resources and providing tools to help in the gathering of
scientific data and better understand our lakes.
Tristan Taber is a biologist and landscape architect whose work has greatly focused on water resources.
He has performed work and research in ecology, restoration activities, bio-geomorphic processes, statistics,
and stakeholder outreach. Currently the Training and Technical Outreach Coordinator for Lake Stewards
of Maine, Tristan also works with the Maine DEP and volunteers with the Maine Audubon on the issue
of landscape connectivity. Recently his work has also heavily involved data visualization, scripting, and
toxin analysis. Formerly, Tristan worked with the Casco Bay Estuary Partnership, Maine DEP, at the
University of Southern Maine and Maine Maritime Academy, and as an educator.
August 21st (Saturday @ 7:45 pm) - Full Moon Paddle
Meet at the Outlet Beach Boat Ramp. Join your neighbors for an evening of paddling leaving from Outlet Beach and proceeding south. Bring a light jacket and stories to share while we wait for the Moon to rise. Also, make sure your craft has appropriate lights that can be seen by other boaters...stay safe! All human-powered watercraft welcome.
August 28th (Saturday @ 7:00 pm) - Sunset Cruise
Meet at the Outlet Beach boat ramp with a light jacket and beverage of your choice. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your seat.
